The project aims to produce a ZSM-5 membrane from silica of rice husk. ZSM-5 has been a very versatile catalyst and its membrane has even broader industrial applications namely in separations, membrane reactor and chemical sensor etc. The current ZSM-5 membrane is produced by purified silica such as fumed silica, suspension silica etc but since the purifying cost of the silica is very high resulting in higher price of the ZSM-5 membrane hence we are determined to try using a cheaper silica source which is rice husk because it is an agricultural waste, abundant and help to resolve the disposal problem faced by the rice processing companyBachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
